Hey, I'm Alex.

I'm a React Native developer based in London, UK. I specialise in accessibility and making mobile apps accessible for all, including users who rely on assistive technology like VoiceOver and TalkBack.

I've spent the last few years building production mobile apps, working across everything from complex animated data visualisation to authentication flows and component architecture. Accessibility has been the thread running through most of it - fixing screen reader incompatibilities in third-party libraries, contributing fixes upstream to open source and running WCAG sessions with cross-functional teams who'd never tested with assistive technology before.

I write here about React Native, accessibility and developer experience. Most posts are practical and opinionated - things I've learned from real production work, not hypotheticals.

Accessibility in mobile isn't an edge case; it's a requirement and should be built in from the start. Too many mobile apps treat accessibility as an afterthought.

I think that needs to change.
